The “High-Level Dialogue on Connected and Automated Driving” held in Ghent on June 18-19, 2024, was organized by the Flemish Ministry of Mobility and Public Works as part of the Belgian Presidency of the Council 2024. Building on the principles set by the 2016 Declaration of Amsterdam, this event aimed to foster European cooperation in the development of connected and automated driving (CAD). Key stakeholders, including heads of transport ministries, national experts, European Commission representatives, and industry leaders, gathered to discuss the latest advancements and future steps in CAD.
During the introductory session, which focused on clarifying terms, challenges, and their interconnections, as well as perspectives from OEMs and the European Commission, ongoing achievements, and testimonies from leading member states France and Germany, Aria Etemad, the Hi-Drive project coordinator, delivered the keynote titled “Removing Barriers for Connected and Automated Vehicles (CAV) Testing.”
