Roadshow#4 – Creating a Robust European ADAS User Training Programme
The fourth installment of the Hi-Drive Roadshow showcases took place at the ADAC Testzentrum Mobilität in Penzing – Germany, on 21 March 2024
This workshop, held under the helm of FIA Region 1, marked the initial phase in preparing and executing a groundbreaking public user training program for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). This two-day event combined hands-on ADAS experience with expert-led workshops. Participants, including Hi-Drive project partners, representatives from 11 European Mobility Clubs, behavioral and psychology specialists, representatives from the European Commission, and OEMs like BMW, VW, Ford, and Honda, came together to validate and reach a consensus on key ADAS functions. The goal was to create a comprehensive curriculum for training European drivers, enhancing their familiarity with existing ADAS technologies from SAE Levels 1 to 3.
Watch as attendees engage with cutting-edge ADAS features such as adaptive cruise control (ACC), automatic emergency braking (AEB), lane-keeping assist (LKA), and more, both on the ADAC testing track and along public roads. Witness the collaborative effort to design a robust training program aimed at raising user awareness, fostering safety, and generating excitement for future automated driving developments.
Automated driving will only become a viable reality when users comprehend the capabilities and limitations of these systems and integrate modern ADAS into their driving habits.
