TRA is the foremost European transport event that covers all transport modes and all aspects of mobility.

In 2022, TRA took place in Lisbon, Portugal. Themed “Moving together – reimagining mobility worldwide”, TRA2022 brought again together experts from around the world to discuss the newest innovations and future of mobility and transport, building also on the Portuguese historical legacy and links to overseas transport professionals. Through the development of innovative solutions, TRA Lisbon 2022 aimed for a more efficient, safer, carbon-free, inclusive, and sustainable transport in all its modes.

TRA offers a great venue for researchers, policy makers and industry representatives to get together and contribute to the discussion on how research and innovation can reshape the transport and mobility system. The conference provides a unique opportunity to hear about mobility trends in different parts of Europe, learn from achievements in industry as well as share best practices of policies and deployments”.

The Hi-Drive project coordinator Aria Etemad (Volkswagen AG) shared an oversight presentation of the project at the European Commission stand with a round of Q&A during the opening day. On Tuesday afternoon Aria was invited to share his insight on how to move towards a defragmented ODD during ‘Sesion #22-23: Traffic Management for Connected & Automated Vehicles’. Thursday morning, Aria discussed and showcased the importance of large scale EU-funded projects, with their impact and generated synergies during the Invited Session #27 organized by the European Commission “Future Urban & Mobility Systems” R&I Unit. Finally, in the afternoon Aria participated at the ‘Traffic management for CAV’ workshop.

The Meetings and presentations were met with great interest and subsequently led to very interesting discussions, opening the way to potential programme synergies and further cooperations.
