On 23 September 2024, the Hi-Drive User Training Programme reached Germany, where the mobility club ADAC conducted its first user training session. Held at the ADAC Driving Safety Centre in Augsburg, the event aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and their practical applications.
The training was attended by 14 external participants, who engaged in a combination of theoretical and hands-on sessions. Four vehicles, including two BMW 5 Series models provided by BMW through the Hi-Drive project partnership, were used during the training.
The programme began with a theoretical module, explaining the functions and capabilities of various ADAS technologies. Participants then moved to the test track, where they practiced using ADAS features in a controlled environment. The session concluded with real-world driving experiences, integrating their learnings into real traffic conditions to simulate everyday scenarios.
Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, emphasizing the clarity of instruction and the practical relevance of the training. This session marked another milestone in the FIA Region I & Hi-Drive User Education Campaign, which aims to promote safer and more efficient use of automated driving technologies across Europe.
ADAC’s contribution to the campaign further reinforces the commitment of mobility clubs, vehicle manufacturers, and research partners involved in the Hi-Drive project to advancing user education in the rapidly evolving field of automated driving.
Stay tuned for more updates as the Hi-Drive User Training Programme continues to expand across Europe, offering participants valuable insights into the #future-of-mobility.
