Hi-Drive ADAS User Training Programme Continues with Success at AMZS in Vransko | Slovenia

On 3 December 2024, the Hi-Drive User Training Programme made its way to Slovenia, where the mobility club AMZS hosted its first user training session. Held at the AMZS Safe Driving Center in Vransko, the event was part of the ongoing Hi-Drive initiative to improve understanding and responsible use of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) across Europe.

The training welcomed 54 participants, selected from nearly 400 registrants, who engaged in a mix of theoretical and practical sessions. The program utilized 8 vehicles provided by local car dealerships, equipped with state-of-the-art ADAS technologies, and involved a total of 9 AMZS experts: eight accompanying drivers and one instructor for the theoretical part. These resources provided participants with hands-on experience in a controlled environment.

The session began with a theoretical module, detailing the functions, benefits, and limitations of 4 key ADAS features: Blind Spot Detection, Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Reverse Automatic Emergency Braking, and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). Participants then moved to practical exercises on a test track, guided by experienced AMZS instructors, to explore the systems’ real-world applications. The training culminated in live traffic scenarios, where participants applied their newly acquired knowledge in realistic driving conditions.

Feedback from attendees highlighted the workshop’s engaging format and practical relevance. Many participants emphasized the importance of understanding ADAS technologies to improve both driver confidence and road safety. The collected pre- and post-training feedback from participants will be further analyzed within the Hi-Drive project, contributing valuable insights to enhance future initiatives.
